JOB DESCRIPTION - Packaging Manager/Accounting
Department: Marketing, Accounting
Reports To: Julia Inestroza and Victor Leche
Salary: Commensurate with experience and performance
FUNCTION :
• To actively manage all packaging material for Gourmet Trading, including scoping, sourcing, movement
around the world, and most importantly inventory.
• To provide CEO and finance department with accurate and timely inventory reports.
• To track inventory shrinkage and items to be deemed obsolete.
• To assist in end of month closing activities.
• To assist in the drafting of monthly consolidated financial statements.
DUTIES:
• Manage packaging inventory globally with the goal of minimized inventory levels.
• Participate with new product development.
• Participate in identifying new packaging vendors and leveraging volume for negotiations.
• Assist with special projects, from a project management perspective, as needed.
• Assist controller with monthly closing activities by actively managing, tracking, and analyzing specific,
assigned accounts.
• Assist controller in the preparation of consolidated financial statements by completing assigned tasks.
• Assist controller in the creation of ad-hoc reports as assigned.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS –
• Formal Education: BS or BA in business, accounting, statistics or other related field
• Previous Job Experience: Knowledge of fresh produce industry a plus
• Language Skills:
o English proficient
o Spanish conversational
• Special Skills:
o Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
o Working knowledge of accounting software (Navision and Excel).
o Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
o Fast learner with good attitude.
